I had the incredible opportunity to photograph my mother after chemo and before her mastectomy. The past six months I've witnessed her strength and courage as she has battled cancer. I am so proud to be her daughter and I am blessed by her example. After we were finished with her session, we held each other. Embraced in love, tears, strength and hope. Never have I looked at my mom that intently. I was in awe of all the beauty she possesses, even without all the superficial things we seem to attach to beauty. It was a good reminder for me... it's a beautiful heart, not a perfect body, that leads to a beautiful life. I love you mom!
